Balanced attic ventilation — ridge vent, soffit intake and box or powered vents — to clear moisture, cut summer attic heat and reduce ice damming in winter.
Half the roofs we open have exhaust vents and no intake, which does almost nothing. Ventilation only works as a pair: low intake at the soffit, high exhaust at the ridge.

Will attic vents lower my cooling bill?
They lower attic temperature, which reduces heat load on the ceiling below and extends shingle life. Savings vary with insulation levels.
Do ridge vents leak?
Not when installed with the correct slot width, external baffle and end caps. Most leaks blamed on ridge vents come from nailing errors or missing baffles.
